<lj:music>MY STOMACH DDD:</lj:music>

I WAS TAGGED BY a_farrier
She gave me AYE-HEE-ROO

Ahiru/Duck from Princess Tutu
Flattering picture~~

1. Do you like this character? YUP.
Okay, I should elaborate. I do like her very much. She's a sweet, pure-hearted character without being bland or annoying. I like that she has a lot of insecurities. She's completeeeely endearing and I just want to give her a hug and a cookie. Maybe two cookies.

2. What name/s do you call this character? Just Ahiru, I guess. Well, sometimes Duck if I feel like it. It does have significantly less syllables. (By significantly I mean TWO.) But I watched the show in Japanese first so "Ahiru" kinda stuck with me.

3. What image-color do you associate with this character? Definitely yellow. Pink and white too. (Not just because those are the colors Tutu wears. XDD Because pink is a fun, happy color and white is pure.)

4. What image-song do you associate with this character? I don't think Ahiru has an "image-song"...and I guess I could pick a classical piece that's in the show but that seems sort of redundant. If I had to pick just any old song to associate with her...hmm, I'd probably pick "I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked. (At least in relation to Mytho) I am sure I could come up with more for her if I sat here and thought about it.

5. What blood-type do you think this character is? Since no official blood-type for her was released I will just guess. I know NOTHING about how blood-types are supposed to gauge your personality. I know it's a big thing in Japan so I looked it up! And after looking it up, I think I'll choose B for her.
The traits are: "Best traits: Wild, active, doer
Worst traits: 	Selfish, irresponsible"
Out of all the different best/worst traits between the four types I think these match up best. It was either B or O but I think the worst traits for O ("vain and rude") don't match up to her at all. While I definitely think she is not a selfish character, at the end (spoilerspoilerspoiler) she shows resistance in giving up the last heart shard. She doesn't want to see the story end. She realizes when everything is over she'll just be a duck again. She's weak at this moment and that's the closest to "selfish" she ever really gets, IMO. As for best traits, she's definitely very active, kind of a spazz and she doesn't just sit around waiting for things to happen. She makes it happen, baby! >:O (Sorry! I gave an essay.)

6. Of all of the titles that this character appears in, what character do you like to put this character with? HMMM THIS IS SO TOUGH.
Obviously Fakir. They are so complementary to each other. Things wouldn't have ended so well if one of them wasn't there. I love their interaction and the growth of their relationship. And it's their bittersweet ending that sort of sealed the deal for me.
Besides, Fakir obviously has a thing for her by second season. Ahiru's growing fondness for him is more subtle but it's totally there.
I wonder if subconsciously they are my favorite OTP of ever just because I've always liked the colors pink and green together. lolol~

7. What would you want to say to this character? Ummm...I am not sure. Maybe something like, "Sooo...what's it like being a duck?" I don't know! XD I don't think about these things.

8. What do you want to do with this character? I'd totally take her to Disneyland or something. lol

9. Please choose 5 friends with your choice of character.
BAH. I guess I should tag people. I seriously haven't tagged people for memes in ages. And this is only 5! And I better do this before everyone is tagged and I am stuck.
Happy Easter~!

Luke 24 (New King James Version)

The Resurrection

1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " 8Then they remembered his words.

9When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.

On the Road to Emmaus

13Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16but they were kept from recognizing him.

17He asked them, "What are you discussing together as you walk along?"

They stood still, their faces downcast. 18 One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, "Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?"

19"What things?" he asked.

"About Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. "He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. 22In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23but didn't find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. 24Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see."

25He said to them, "How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?" 27And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

28As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus acted as if he were going farther. 29But they urged him strongly, "Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over." So he went in to stay with them.

30When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

33They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34and saying, "It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon." 35Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.

Jesus Appears to the Disciples

36While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

37They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."

40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" 42They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43and he took it and ate it in their presence.

44He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms."

45Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things. 49I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

The Ascension

50When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. 52Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I really love the "Road to Emmaus" part. I always have.
"And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself."

As a Christian AND theology major, I would have LOVED to hear this conversation. XDD
There are so many things in the Old Testament that point to Jesus or are about Jesus as far as we can tell but to be able to hear it from His own mouth would have been the best commentary I could ever ask for. ;-; Those disciples were certainly blessed to hear that.

I WANT THEM ALL  TAT
So cute.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

I told myself I would try to lose as much weight as I can before Fanime but now I have an Easter basket full of CANDY.  alslflal;;
I'll still try my best. lol

♥

(LOL YES)
[X] You remember boom boxes vs. CD players (Ahhmm...were they competing?)
[X] Making those little paper fortune cookie things, and then predicting your life with them; (MMHMM)
[X] You played and/or collected Pogs (POGS! I never played. I just collected. <s>I forgot the name of those big plastic ones that you were supposed to use to flip the pogs...I had some of those too</s>. Nevermind! SLAMMERS. THANKS CAITLIN.)
[X] You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere you went.
(YUP~ I had a Nano cat.)

You watched the original cartoons of:

[X] Rugrats (Not much. I didn't like the animation style. :|)
[ ] Wild Thornberrys
[X] Power Rangers (I was SO SO obssessed with the Power Rangers. My parents took me to a convention and I met Kimberly and Tommy. lolol)
[X] All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand. (PEE-CHEE FOLDERS. LUNCH BOXES. PENCILS~)

You collected:

[X] Beanie Babies (My grandma bought me so many. I have the Princess Di bear. I wonder if it'll actually be worth something one day. Probably not. -__-)
[X] Pokemon cards (DID I EVER. ♥)
[X] Carebears
[ ] Silver dollars (No but I collected coins at one point)

You remember when:

[X] Everyone watched the WB
[X] Everybody knew all the Pokemon by heart (Um. Some of us still do. :B)
[X] Digimon was still on
[X] If you even know what an original Walkman is
[X] You knew the Macarena by heart
[X] "Talk to the hand"
[X] You went to McDonald’s to play in the playplace and it was still sanitary (THIS and DISCOVERY ZONE. Or places like it.)
[X] Before the MySpace frenzy
[X] Before the Internet & text messaging
[X] Before Sidekicks & iPods
[X] Before PlayStation3 or X-Box 360
[X] Back before X-Box period
[X] Before SpongeBob
[X] When light up sneakers were cool (Yeah, I am guilty of owning a pair too...XD)
[X] When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs
[X] When gas was $0.95 a gallon
[X] When we recorded stuff on VCR
[X] You had slap bracelets
[X] You actually played outside until it was dark (YES. I used to climb our hill in the backyard. We had these--not very strong--vine things that grew there and I went on adventures. And I had a telescope so I'd be out at night sometimes. Such a dumb kid. XD)
[X] Way back before we realized all this would eventually disappear
[X] Post this if you smiled at least more than 5 times (I was laughing! I showed William and Matthew too. William remembers more than Mattie though. Now we are having nostalgia-paloooza.)
[X] And if you remember at least half the stuff on here.

You know, they should have put BABY-SITTERS CLUB on here. I read those all the time. And Animorphs.
(Oh, apparently the Baby-sitter's Club books started in 1986. I still associate it with the 90s though.)
What else can I remember....

Oh the obvious--BOY BANDS. And The Spice Girls. I was stupidly obsessed.

Let's see, personally we went roller blading all the time and played laser tag. I don't know if that's specifically 90s but that was totally our thing in the summertime. We went to a place called Roller City 2000 every Wednesday with friends. Roller skating has been around forever but I think laser tag is more of a 90s thing?

OH. Crayola came out with the 96-count crayons. I thought that was the MOST AMAZING THING EVER. In 1st grade I got in trouble in class for standing up and looking through my friend's crayon box when we were all supposed to be sitting. I was amazed at so many colors.

UMM. I remember the OJ Simpson trial because it took over all our shows and my parents watched it. And I remember all those hours of watching that white Bronco on the freeway...

Titanic is really 90s. 6th grade. I remember this so well. My cousin went to see the movie 15 times because she was in love with Leonardo DiCaprio.

I remember 1999 when everyone freaked out about Y2K.

Thomas the Tank Engine. Matthew was obsessed with trains and Thomas so I associate it with the 90s too.

Umm...Toonami started?

LOL CRYSTAL PEPSI

Stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut.

Boys used to spike their hair and think it was cool. (But I think it looked dumb.)

Matthew just reminded me of Beast Wars. OH Beast Wars. I liked CHEETOR or whatever the heck it's name was. Haha.

The problem is a lot of shows and toys overlapped from the 80s. I thought Polly Pocket was a 90s thing but it was actually made in the 80s. And I associate "Saved by the Bell" with the 90s but I think it started in the 80s too...

♥

Luke 23 (New King James Version)

Jesus Handed Over to Pontius Pilate

1 Then the whole multitude of them arose and led Him to Pilate. 2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.”
3 Then Pilate asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?”
He answered him and said, “It is as you say.”
4 So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no fault in this Man.”
5 But they were the more fierce, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.”

Jesus Faces Herod

6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked if the Man were a Galilean. 7 And as soon as he knew that He belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time. 8 Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him. 9 Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing. 10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused Him. 11 Then Herod, with his men of war, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate. 12 That very day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other, for previously they had been at enmity with each other.

Taking the Place of Barabbas

13 Then Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people, 14 said to them, “You have brought this Man to me, as one who misleads the people. And indeed, having examined Him in your presence, I have found no fault in this Man concerning those things of which you accuse Him; 15 no, neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed nothing deserving of death has been done by Him. 16 I will therefore chastise Him and release Him” 17 (for it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast).
18 And they all cried out at once, saying, “Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas”— 19 who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder.
20 Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them. 21 But they shouted, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”
22 Then he said to them the third time, “Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go.”
23 But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests prevailed. 24 So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested. 25 And he released to them the one they requested, who for rebellion and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

The King on a Cross

26 Now as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus.
27 And a great multitude of the people followed Him, and women who also mourned and lamented Him. 28 But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’ 30 Then they will begin ‘to say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’ 31 For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?”
32 There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. 33 And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
And they divided His garments and cast lots. 35 And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”
36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, 37 and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.”
38 And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew:

THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”
40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Jesus Dies on the Cross

44 Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last.
47 So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!”
48 And the whole crowd who came together to that sight, seeing what had been done, beat their breasts and returned. 49 But all His acquaintances, and the women who followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.

Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb

50 Now behold, there was a man named Joseph, a council member, a good and just man. 51 He had not consented to their decision and deed. He was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who himself was also waiting for the kingdom of God. 52 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53 Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock, where no one had ever lain before. 54 That day was the Preparation, and the Sabbath drew near.
55 And the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid. 56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

♥

I feel like talking about food. And I don't know why. But I am going to!

+ I have never tasted mango ice cream as good as the ice cream inside of mango mochi ice cream.
Dreyer's came out with a mango flavor, and it was okay. At Albertson's yesterday I found some brand that makes random flavors of ice cream (purple yam, avacado...o_O) and they had mango! It's good, probably better than Dreyer's version...but not mango mochi ice cream good.
I wonder if I'll ever find a brand that compares to the mochi one.

+ Never seen green tea ice cream sold in stores. Maybe they sell it at smaller markets, but I've never found it at a big grocery store. Chapman's cafeteria had the best green tea ice cream! I could go for some right now.

+ You know those big cans of Arizona iced tea? I can't seem to drink out of them properly. I guess the opening is too wide. I dribble tea all over myself. This is embarrassing. D:

+ I have come to like dill pickles. Sort of. I used to take them out of my burgers and would never eat those big spears they give you in restaurants. But now I eat them! And I will eat them of my own free will if we have them at home
Still dislike tomatoes though...

+ The heat melted all of our white chocolate covered pretzels together but not the dark chocolate ones. What is this business?

♥

I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I’ve been to the LACC only once for e4 and VGL so I wasn’t used to the convention center or anything. I was wary because it was in LA but in the end I actually really enjoyed myself! The venue really wasn’t that bad. The best thing was that there was a lot of indoor space. We could chill inside with the AC on, unlike last year where I felt like half of the con consisted of us walking in the sun for the majority of the weekend. The only downside was if you walked to the place where registration was it took you forever to get back to where the dealer's hall was.
I think another reason it was enjoyable was because I went easy on myself costume-wise. I only brought Ahiru and Toph, both pretty comfortable and easy to manage for the most part.

I think I am going to break up my con posts since I really rambled on about Friday. If I added Saturday and Sunday to the mix this would be way too long. It's...probably too long already.

I didn't attend on Thursday since I wasn't planning on going all four days. It worked out nicely, though! Thursday morning was spent in the hospital as my grandma had compacted ear wax removed. I could write a WHOLE essay on our adventures Thursday morning but I won't. XD Let's just say my grandma wasn't too happy about having to go to the hospital and was confused but we couldn't tell her why we were there because she couldn't hear. Total catch-22.
Oh yeah, and because of my wacky sleep schedule I had been up since 2 pm Wednesday. I was pretty much a zombie by the time I went to bed, which was around Friday at midnight-ish?
But I had enough sleep to get me through the day on Friday!

So. Anyway! Friday! Day 2 of the con but Day 1 for me. I had a lot of fun this day and it gave me a good feeling about the rest of the weekend.
Here's a run-down of the day.

+Hanging out silliness from about 10 to 11 with Erin, Kristen, Caitlin, Karen, Erik (part of the time) and all the random friends who passed us by!

LET US DANCE KENPACHI

I loved Erin's fluffy mittens!
We matched in color scheme that day.

+ Getting a full day badge for only $15! Erik, Caitlin and I decided to get exhibitor hall only passes for the first day. At some point I checked my badge because I really wanted to go to the artist alley and a panel so I thought, “Gah I wonder if they’ll check!” And then I notice there is nothing on my badge that says anything about “hall only”! It seems the guy accidentally gave me a regular pass. THANK YOU GOD. :DD

+ Having Caroline with me as Ruuueeee!

+ I met Glay and Quantum Destiny (Nikki and Alex but now I forgot which one was which. DD:) They are the most amazing DBZ cosplayers! Seriously. ♥ We have left comments to each other on C.com so it was awesome seeing them in person.

+ Ouran Announcement Panel
Karen and I wanted to go to the Ouran panel where they announced who will be the main cast in the Ouran dub and on our way we ran into Lisa and Jared. (Who luckily knew where room 402 or whatever it was was.) They joined us. We also ran into Annamarie who was waiting in the long line in the sun. We decided to go back inside and wait till the line goes in so we can just walk in after them since we didn’t want to melt.
Once the line moved there was a huge gap before the line outside came in so we ninja’d our way in and got good seats right in the middle! XD;

As we were waiting for the panel to start Lisa poked me and said, “Hey hey isn’t that Seitz right there?” I thought she was pointing to a balding man and I thought, “WOW Mr. Seitz really has started to lose his hair…” She said, “No no the other one!” “OH!...LOL YAH” So we chatted with him till the panel started and I found out he is doing the voice for NEKOZAWA! HURHUR. I kind of asked jokingly, “SO. Are you IN the dub?” He started rubbing his shirt (which had Beelzenef on it) and said, “Uhhh well I REALLY can’t…saaaay…” I kind of spazzed for a second once I realized what he was getting at because I just thought he was sitting in on the panel. Haha. It was awesome. Well, not my spazzing. The fact that he got a part.

Another awesome thing was that I got to meet Luci Christian! x3
She is the voice of Ahiru/Duck in the Princess Tutu dub~! It's awesome meeting voice actors when I am actually cosplaying as the character they voiced…(Like Kyle when I was in Kiba, though I still think I sound like a big retard in that video. =3=;; ) The reason she was at the panel was because she is doing the dub voice of Hunny.

During the panel someone asked a question...and I absolutely forgot what it was so in the midst of writing this I wondered if the panel was up online anywhere already and it is. Of course.
THANKS YOUTUBE.

Here's the video! XD~ Her part starts at about 4:03.
<lj-embed id="10" />

Okay, so the question was about what kind of challenges did they have in the dub.
When it gets to Luci she says that since the animation is good it sort of helps to play off that and as she was saying that she points and says, "I see a Duck in the audience, and I had the same experience with Princess Tutu." For a split second I was thinking, "Ahh is she looking at me? Is there another one in the audience? (This was UNLIKELY) Should I ah...do something?" I felt really sheepish, haha. But I managed to wave a little bit and as she kept talking and she waved back and was all like, "Hi honey! Kindred spirit. Love you." That's why there is such a pause between her first saying that she sees me and me deciding to react. Hurrr.

I happened to be sitting pretty much directly in her line of vision from where she was on stage. When we sat down we had no idea who would be sitting where so it was kind of funny.
Though I don't think Jared thought it was that funny because he was sitting right next to me and he said he lowered in his seat because of the attention that was on our area for that split second. SORRY JARED! XD

After the panel the voice actors were still hanging around the stage a bit and part of me really wanted to say "HI!" to her but I wasn't so sure. Karen said she would love it if I stopped by. It didn't take much coaxing so we hurried over to the stage and got her attention. It was hard to say anything from where she was on stage so she quickly moved to the left side and I did the same and we were like, "HELLO! :DD" Well, haha not exactly. But it was awesome, though I honestly can't remember what I said to her or what she said to me.
I didn't get a pic with her at that time, but mm I think...Mike McFarland (I am pretty sure it was him because he was in a WIG) snapped a pic of us.
I saw her later that afternoon when the voice actors were at the Funimation booth (where the lovely hosts were all weekend ♥) and she was there again so I was like, "GAHcanIgetapicwithyousinceIdidn'tgetoneonmycameraearlier?"  She had to go really fast but we got a pic--well, Caitlin did since I was dumb and didn't take my camera out right away. -_-;

:DDD

At some point while we were chilling at the Funimation booth Shea and Lindsay were doing their Hitachiin twin thing and it was like the paparazzi (consisting of 14 and 15 year olds for the most part) appeared out of nowhere and started taking pics. HANDS AND CAMERAS EVERYWHERE. Caitlin and I were kind of stuck. I had to wiggle my way out of the crowd, it was kind of ridiculous.

I forgot what we did later. I remember Karen and I went into Artist Alley and ran into Sheri.
Oh yeah. Caroline kept finding black feathers around the convention center and I found a yellow one. I was amused. We posed with our little feathers from then on. :B

At some point Karen, Caitlin, Caroline and I were outside and Annamarie joined us. And we took pics. And that's the only time I took pics this day! Hurr.
It's just not a con if I don't do stupid Myspace-angle pics.

We saw Wilson, briefly!

OMNOMNOM SOUL
I need to see this show.

Little known fact--Caitlin will be in the next cycle of America's Next Top Model.

Caroline's Rue skirt owned mine. It beat up and ate mine many times throughout the day. BULLY. TAT

At this point I was just randomly taking pics. XD

Architecture cosplay at it's finest.

We left the convention center around 8 or so, stopped by Carl's Jr. and then got back to the apartment. At some point Anela and Erik came back, and Andy and Stephanie came in about 3 or so. I was helping Karen stencil her hakama until I got really sleepy. UGH my stenciling was SO ugly. I am sorry Karen! D: That night consisted of a lot of dumb jokes...IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. Good times.

And good for you if you read through all of that because I typed WAY too much! XD

♥

It was really good--I have never been disappointed by a Pixar movie so far. I have "Put on your Sunday Clothes" stuck in my head now, though.

MY NEW TOY
I have an Eve and M-O one too. I know, Immah 'tard.

Oh yes, and our washing machine DIED. I need to do laundry, this really stinks.
We've had it for nineteen years and never had a problem with it, but gah....

♥

    <lj:music>"Fidelity Fiduciary Bank" :: Mary Poppins Soundtrack</lj:music>

Okay so I figured I should post about Fanime since it was what, two weeks ago?
But first!! I passed my permit test today! <s>By the skin of my teeth</s> Now I can start to practice driving legally again~~! YAY. That's one thing out of the way. So much stuff to do still. D:

Ok. On to my fairly long post about

.

Fanime 2008

I wrote most of this right after Fanime so I wouldn't forget things but decided to wait to post it as more pics filtered in.

Pre-Fanime:
Caitlin and I got to her house in the afternoon on Wednesday. I spent practically the WHOLE drive up embroidering the wings on my puffy Ahiru shorts because somehow I thought embroidering them was a GOOD and non-time-consuming idea. How wrong I was!

A few noteworthy points of pre-Fanime tiemz:

+ Smores!

+ Watching Hercules (Caitlin's cat) chase a laser pointer dot was HIGHLY amusing. XDD

+ Shippudden Hinata shoot! Caitlin wanted to try out her new camera and I was dying to get some nice pics of my Shippudden Hinata outfit!
I started uploading some to my Cosplay.com gallery and ACP and this one is one of my favorites!

I loved how these came out. Photoshopped eyes FTW. :3

So that was all before Fanime...

In general, Fanime itself had a few THEMES.

+ STUPID TALKING and FINGER WAGGING.

+"CLOSED DOOR RULE" I ALMOST accidentally walked in on Erin when she was in the bathroom. I was talking on the phone and was totally distracted. (Note: Marriott bathrooms had sliding doors, no locks. I don't know why...?) Since then almost every time someone was using the bathroom for an extended period of time they'd give me a heads up and say something like, "Amy I will be USING THE BATHROOM" so I wouldn't walk in. -____-

+ Shana got her skirt from Target

+ Tranquil flare replaced flaming flare this time around.

And I almost saw everyone that I knew who was supposed to be there! Almost. I won't do shout-outs because I am likely to forget somebody and feel bad.
I think I say the same thing for every convention post...

Anyway! Onto the actual convention.

Friday:

Caitlin, Erin, Kristen and I left Caitlin's house about 9:30 or so and headed to San Jose! (DO YOU KNOW THE WAY)

+I am always amazed by how fast the Fanime pre-registration line goes.

+ Wore Sora for part of the day!

Shana made a new <s>paopu</s> POOPOO fruit!

LOL BACKGROUND.

+ Got to see Zach surprise Caroline in his AMAZING Cloud cosplay! Secret cosplay FTW! Seriously, it turned out super amazing, Zach! I am glad you kept it a secret.

+ Erin and I finally got cute forced-perspective!pictures together with her as Shuno (WHO IS IN FACT A GIRL) and me in Orihime!

My first myspace-like picture of the weekend, with a cameo by Kristen's hand.

+ Dinner at Peggy Sue's with Kristen, Erin, Caitlin, and Shana was good times!

+ Karen arrived around 10:30ish or so? And TOTALLY surprised me with her SBC--secret backburner cosplay! But I can't say what it is since it is still unfinished so it's still a secret. :x

Saturday:

+ Organization CO-ATS! We definitely finished our coats in time!

+ I shouldn't point when trying to give Caitlin directions when she is blindfolded. :B

Emo-Myspace Riku and Roxas

NOT SO MUCH

Roxas and Shampoo IDK MY BFF?

+Caitlin and I switched wigs. *epically fails as Riku*

+ Didn't go to the masquerade (like last year) so just ended up hanging out with friends (Tim, Erik, Gerold, etc. etc.) and taking pics.
And this:

Karen's knee was comfortable!

Ooooo Roxas Oooooo

I don't know, this picture makes me LOL everytime. It looks like Tim and I are on a roller coaster but someone photoshopped the San Jose Convention Center (and Shana) in the background.

And some random guy named Daniel came up and talked with me for a long time.

After taking more pics on the other side of the convention center, we went back to the room. Caitlin finally finished watching Princess Tutu since the next day she would be cosplaying as FABULOUSBOB MYTHOPANTS ♥.
(And I finally finished the embroidery on my ridiculous shorts! >:O)

Sunday:

PRINCESSEN TUTUSTEINEN DAY FAKIACHTUNG.

+ Photoshoot with Jason! Here are some of my faves:

So I decided to redo my whole Ahiru outfit with better fabric and in hopes to make a better skirt. I had problems (again) with the hoop skirt so decided to leave it out because it caused more hassle than it was worth. But now I am mad for not using at least second petticoat to make my skirt fuller. Well, I was going to buy one before I got to Caitlin's apartment on Tuesday but William didn't want to make an extra stop. I have one NOW. It doesn't really help that the con is over.
I also fixed a few things on the outfit a few days ago because I have time! Time time timeeee. I am going to reattach the skirt in hopes that it will be less ghetto.
Anyway. I am reaaaallly rambling! BACK TO PICS...

PLAY IT, SAM

+ Totally surprised by the number of times we got stopped for pics in these cosplays. Definitely way more than anything else I wore that weekend.
We went to the Princess Tutu gathering too because it was nice, small and not overwhelming like the Bleach, Naruto and KH gatherings that I sometimes find myself in the middle in.

This Tutu was really sweet!

WE HAS PROBLEM D:

+ In the evening, Karen and I changed into alternate Fakir and Ahiru outfits. Ben tapped me on the shoulder and said something like, "SO where are my burger and fries?" It took me a second to wonder what in the world he was getting at, then I remembered what I was wearing. HUR.
I got a lot of those comments in my silly Ronald McDonald!Ahiru cosplay. :PPP

+Caitlin borrowed Sora and looked really good in it! XD

It was really trippy, like looking at yourself in costume, except not?

Monday:
Last day! T___T Caitlin and I were smart this year and put most of our luggage in the car the night before save for the few things we needed. Like always, the elevators were packed.

+ Andy kept giggling over my Ronald McDonald!Ahiru.

+ 18 flights down the stairs with luggage is NOT REALLY FUN but a great workout!

+Thanks so much to Muze for helping me carry luggage for a few flights! XD

+ Chilled with tons of people by the fountain for some last minute fun.

+ Caitlin, Karen and I had lunch at Pizza My Heart.

+ TRAFFIC on 152. BAH. At least it was a scenic road! There was a lake, some cows, wildflowers...
Karen called and we kept guessing how far away we were from her on the road. We finally spotted her about fifteen cars ahead of us. Finallyyy! XD

+ We also spotted Chairman Mao taking a stroll alongside the road.

+ We witnessed the craaazy antics of a CHP officer. Seriously, this guy was weird.

+ Caitlin and I got back to her apartment around 11:30 after stopping at Carl's for some BURGERS.

THE END

♥

    <lj:music>TV and William playing a song...</lj:music>

So my dad randomly decided that he wanted to see Ben Stein's movie (er, documentary?) Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed this evening. I was pretty much stuck going because we just picked up my mom from work and would have been late to the movie if we stopped at home first. At first I was like, "Boo boo I want to go home and chill because I am tired and running on 4 hours of sleep." But in the end I am glad I went to see it.

The main point of it was that in academia today there are universities in which teachers of science who even mention the words "intelligent design" are "expelled" so to speak from their job. Denied tenure, reputations tainted, etc. Even journalists who give intelligent design equal footing with evolution get black balled. It also spoke of the ongoing debated of Darwinists vs. scientists who believe in Intelligent Design theory. This is nothing new of course, we all know that that is a huge debate in the scientific world. It was NOT a film trying to prove Intelligent design or anything, it just showed the bias in the science world and the loss of freedom of speech in this aspect.

There are a two things I want to note after watching this:
1)What's going on right now really is not a debate about science vs. religion. There are religious scientists, for example. It is a debate on world views. Whether you are a theist, atheist, agnostic, or whatever--you have a world view. Science and religion are two different things. One asks the question, "Why?" (religion) and the other asks the question, "How?" (science)
I don't think these are contradictions. I have no problems with science as a Christian. I enjoy learning about science. (Despite me whining about my bio class last semester. Durhur)

2) While watching this, I remembered WAY more biology than I thought I did. XDDD (LOLOL BOB THE RNA IN HIS PRIMORDIAL SOUP <s>Caitlin let us make fanarts</s>)

Whenever I watch something about science or study anything related to science I always come away with this thought: The more I think about the complexities of the universe as shown to us in science, like the functions of a cell, the more I am compelled to believe that God is behind it. Oddly enough science has strengthened my faith many times. We are such complicated beings and there are such complexities in nature that I just cannot believe things happened by chance.

+++

And just for the record: I am not posting this to engage in a debate on SCIENCE VS. RELIGION or if evolution theory is correct or not. That wasn't the point of the documentary and it is not the point of the post. It's just something I felt like posting about, especially because it is rare for me to make serious business posts. XD

♥

Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " 8Then they remembered his words.

18One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, "Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?"

+Jesus Appears to the Disciples+

+The Ascension+

50When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. 52Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.

And HAVE SOME PICTURES OF

♥

Just instead of naming events you'd be naming...ahmm...state leaders in 1914.)
I guess my album title is ironic, especially if there are no tracks by Arthur whatshisface.

Well--one final down! Two more in class finals to go and one due by e-mail before 4:30 on Friday.
For some reason I thought my Hinduism final was at 1 today. I was all ready to sleep in.  Before I went to bed I decided to double-check my schedule for this week and saw it was at 10:45. I am so glad I checked! o__o;;

Hooookaaay, back to studying for my second final! After this final I can finally focus on bio. <lj:music>SOMETHING IS BEEPING OUTSIDE</lj:music>

Firstly, Happy Birthday to codymau! Hope its a great one!

So classes started today. Today (as all Mondays will be) is BIOLOGY day and nothing else and sheeesh, I felt like I've been in class for half the week now. I was walking back from class and thought, "Wow, so it's only Monday."
Bio lecture wasn't bad and the teacher seemed pretty cool. The lab teacher also seemed pretty cool (and pretty lax?) but the lab was SUPER boring and tedious and we didn't really finish. We had to count beans 27 times for as a lab on natural selection. As I said: boring and tedious.
But whatever. No lab for two weeks since we have Monday off for labor day!

Tomorrow is all my major classes so I hope that goes well. I also hope to start working soon! I need monies!

Oh yeah! So I helped man the anime club table for about an hour and we had some people sign up. (Even with no poster or anything on the table. Well, I made one eventually and Phae printed out some pictures so our table wasn't so sad.)
I was wearing my Roxas jacket (because it gets cold in the classrooms not because I like wearing jackets in hot weather--then again, I always seem to anyway. Weird habit of mine. o_O) and one of the girls recognized it pretty much right away. YAY. Saix is her favorite and wanted to know how to make it. Another girl who signed up was a German exchange student and one guy lived in Japan for about 13 years. I hope this means we'll have a generation of awesome anime club attendees. It was getting kinda sad by the end of last year...

How could I forget? Yesterday I found out (as Phae, Caitlin and I flipped through the phonebook looking for restaurants and making up a story to go along with a doofy little phonebook character) that pineapples do not grow on trees. For some reason I thought they grew on trees! I've been so misguided all my life and I am not sure where I got the idea that they grew on trees? Maybe I've been getting them confused with coconuts.

♥

He saw the strips of linen lying there, 7 as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen. 8 Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. 9 (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
10 Then the disciples went back to their homes, 11 but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

13 They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?"

"They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him." 14At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.

15 "Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?"
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."

16 Jesus said to her, "Mary."
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).

17 Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' "

18 Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her.
Jesus Appears to His Disciples
19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

21 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."
Jesus Appears to Thomas
24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"
But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."

26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

♥

      Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from the words of my groaning?

2 O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
by night, and am not silent.

3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the praise of Israel.

4 In you our fathers put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.

5 They cried to you and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not disappointed.

6 But I am a worm and not a man,
scorned by men and despised by the people.

12 Many bulls surround me;
strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.

13 Roaring lions tearing their prey
open their mouths wide against me.

14 I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart has turned to wax;
it has melted away within me.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
you lay me in the dust of death.

16 Dogs have surrounded me;
a band of evil men has encircled me,
they have pierced my hands and my feet.

17 I can count all my bones;
people stare and gloat over me.

18 They divide my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing.

19 But you, O LORD, be not far off;
O my Strength, come quickly to help me.

20 Deliver my life from the sword,
my precious life from the power of the dogs.

21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;
save me from the horns of the wild oxen.

22 I will declare your name to my brothers;
in the congregation I will praise you.

23 You who fear the LORD, praise him!
All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!

24 For he has not despised or disdained
the suffering of the afflicted one;
he has not hidden his face from him
but has listened to his cry for help.

25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;
before those who fear you will I fulfill my vows.

26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;
they who seek the LORD will praise him—
may your hearts live forever!

27 All the ends of the earth
will remember and turn to the LORD,
and all the families of the nations
will bow down before him,

28 for dominion belongs to the LORD
and he rules over the nations.

29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.

30 Posterity will serve him;
future generations will be told about the Lord.

31 They will proclaim his righteousness
to a people yet unborn—
for he has done it.

JOHN 19:19-37

The Crucifixion
So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. 17 Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). 18 Here they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.

19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read:|sc JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 20 Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek. 21 The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, "Do not write 'The King of the Jews,' but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews."

22 Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written."

23 When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

24 "Let's not tear it," they said to one another. "Let's decide by lot who will get it."
This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said,
"They divided my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing." So this is what the soldiers did.

25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," 27 and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.
The Death of Jesus
28 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty." 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32 The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 35 The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: "Not one of his bones will be broken,"[b] 37 and, as another scripture says, "They will look on the one they have pierced."

♥

Happy Valentine's Day~!

Cook-sensei printed out 1 Corinthians 13: 4-13 in Japanese to use for Valentine's day cards. (She always wants us to make them and give them out. I don't have one person in mind, but a scanner allows me to share it with lots of people! :D) This made me happy because its one of my favorite Bible passages. And it's pretty well known too. I apologize for my totally messy writing!

And now for the passage in English:

1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor. 13)

♥
